From Late Cretaceous Period. Approximately 100 million years old. Found in Kane County, Near Orderville, Utah These stunning geodes compose ofCalcite (Yellow Centers) , Aragonite (Brown Lines), Limestone (Outer Grey Rock), occasionally Barite, Pyrite and Marcasite.
Utah Septarian is mined from sedimentary rock 20 to 80 feet below the surface of the Earth ! Only about a quarter of them have hollow centers.
